The Saxophone

The Saxophone is an instrument made of brass with a wooden mouthpiece and is, therefore, a member of the woodwind family. The most popular saxophones are the baritone, alto, tenor, and soprano and are all played by pressing a key which then covers or lifts a pad from a sound hole. The Saxophone is often associated with Jazz music, but it is actually used in a wide variety of genres laying down beautiful melodies and solos.

Do I need my own Saxophone?

Having your own Saxophone is a big advantage because it means that you can practice between lessons which will definitely get you better results. As with any instrument, it is important to try before you buy. Even though you might not be able to play anything yet, holding the instrument in your hands can tell you a lot about the quality of the instrument.
