Raphael is a very approachable and accommodating teacher, he put in a lot of effort to accomodate my difficult schedule and taught me the basics in a clear and patient manner!

Rafael is an excellent teacher, knowledgable and patient at all times. I have really appreciated his calm approach coupled with his deep knowledge of practice and theory. I believe that his experience as a working musician very much informs his approach to teaching.

I have now had several lessons with Rafael, and as a teacher, I cannot fault him. He explains everything clearly and straightforwardly — even for an old man like me, it is crystal clear. Whenever I have questions about music theory, Rafael doesn’t just give the answer and leave it at that; he explains it thoroughly so that you understand why it is that way. He is also extremely knowledgeable about music and saxophone players. He is very encouraging and tailors the lessons to your individual abilities, making each session fresh and rewarding. As a complete beginner on the saxophone, my learning has come on in leaps and bounds. My only disappointment is that I can only award Rafael five stars — I would happily give him ten if it were possible.
