Susie is a vocal coach, musical director and actor now based in Bristol. Originally from Glasgow, she has been performing professionally for over fifteen years and trained at both The Royal Academy of Music (Distinction, Musical Theatre), The University of Manchester (2:1, Joint Honours Music & Drama) and The Actor’s Door Studio in London (Meisner Technique).
Since moving to Bristol, she now teaches vocals at The University of Bristol, The British & Irish Modern Music Institute and Weston College. She is passionate about encouraging singing in absolutely anyone! It is a joyful and wonderful thing, and anyone can come to it at any age.
She appreciates how singing is a wonderful outlet of creativity, and it is her goal to inspire and train anyone who would like to learn. Everyone has their own unique voice, and she wants to not only to get the best sound out of people, but also inspire and nurture their confidence.
More so than anything, she is passionate about teaching people in a safe and enjoyable environment. Every lesson with her will be tailored to suit your musical or creative journey, and in a space that is comfortable and fun.
She has a 100% success rate in Rockschool/ABRSM exams with all of her students obtaining either Merit or Distinction.
Teaching in Vocals:
Susie teaches vocals from intermediate to advanced students aged 16 and up in all genres, but specialises in Musical Theatre, Pop, Jazz, and Blues. Lessons will cover tone, technique, and musicality, as well as any additional graded exams upon request.
For your first lesson, she will have a brief chat about your goals, experience and will work on a song of your choice after going through tailored exercises and warms up to suit your voice and areas of development.
