Tom is very patient and clearly adept at judging a students capabilities, never overloading you or vice versa. He introduces concepts at a steady pace and builds on them across several lessons. He also provides sheets and practice materials for home. I've made great progress with him and would reccomend him.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Tom since February, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my playing. Before starting lessons, I was self-taught but wanted more structure and guidance to help me progress further. Since working with Tom, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my technique, confidence, and overall understanding of the guitar. He has a great ability to identify the areas I struggle with and then tailor future lessons to help me overcome them. His teaching is always patient, focused, and encouraging. Tom is also an incredibly versatile guitarist. Whether it’s rhythm, lead, chords, or a specific song I want to learn, he always provides the right material and guidance so I can learn every part properly. Most importantly, Tom creates a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment. His calm and friendly approach puts me at ease, and I genuinely look forward to my lessons each week.

Tom is an exceptional guitar teacher. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, he takes the time to understand how you learn and tailors lessons accordingly. Every lesson comes with clear notes and practice materials, and he’s always happy to share additional resources between sessions to help you keep progressing. He’s knowledgeable, encouraging, and incredibly patient. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your playing, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Darla has had a wonderful introduction to learning the electric guitar. I booked her in for a few lessons with Tom after going to see Oasis live in concert and decided she wanted to be a rock star. At age 12 I know this sort of idea can be a bit of a whim. But after meeting Tom, she settled straight away and warmed to his quiet and calm nature. Next thing we bought her a guitar and I've never seen her so happy strumming on this instrument. Never once did she say she didn't want to go to lessons. As she progressed and practiced and I could recognise the chords she was playing, and Tom's words of encouragement really engaged her. Tom is a wonderful teacher and musician. And we have only had to stop having lessons due to the erratic bristol traffic and our journeys home taking up to 2hrs. We've managed to get her private lessons in school ( she was adamant in the beginning she didn't want to learn at school ) and she is confident enough now to do these lessons. And believe Tom has given her all the confidence and inspiration she needs to continue. Thank you Tom. We will keep in touch. Highly recommended *****

Tom is an excellent teacher. When I first started 4 months ago I’d never played a guitar, my confidence since has gone from strength to strength. I’d been told different things by different people about playing left or right handed, many told me to force myself to play right handed. Tom guided me through playing left handed and it feels so natural now. Tom has a great curriculum to follow but is happy to help you progress in a personal direction or song riff that you wish to practice. His lessons are structured but not pushy. There isn’t an expectation to reach a certain level or practice a certain amount between lessons. I highly recommend Tom as a teacher!

Tom is kind-hearted, patient and encouraging. I have thoroughly enjoyed my learning experience so far and look forward to my weekly lessons. I definitely would recommend Tom if you are looking for a music teacher.
