Simon is a fantastic violin teacher and all-round good fella. I started about 6 months ago as an absolute beginner to the instrument and to music theory in general. Simon has helped me to get a firm grounding in good technique and intonation from the very start. We have focused on learning the basics and theory well so that I can move to playing with musicality quickly. Simon is able to explain the theory behind playing the instrument clearly so that even a total beginner can understand. He also obviously loves the instrument and is a great musician. Simon is very easy to get on with and a good laugh, would strongly recommend hi m as a teacher!

Although i have never seen Simon teaching, i have been in ensembles he has directed - he has always been knowledgeable and constructive, and has the ability to encourage people to do their best for the piece in hand. I'm sure he would bring those qualities to any teaching situation. He is also a very capable musician in his own right.
