Shoko is an experienced piano & eurhythmic teacher with a BA in music specialising in younger ages. She has been teaching both in the UK and Japan for over 15 years.

Having studied in both the UK & Japan, Shoko has a wealth of experience and knowledge of teaching. Because everyone is different, she will always find the best way for you to learn.

Shoko is also a concert performer as well as organising various children’s focused music events.

Teaching in Piano

Shoko teaches all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced.

Shoko’s beginners lesson will include:
- Music reading
- Posture
- Techniques
- Music theory in every lesson (using other instruments such as tambourine and singing for young beginners to help better understand.)


First lesson

In the first lesson, Shoko will discuss with you with your reasons and interest in learning piano.
Please feel free to bring any piece that you’re currently playing.

Teaching in Eurhythmics

Shoko also teaches eurhythmic lessons for babies and toddlers in groups.
Shoko’s aim in eurhymic classes are to build the basic music skills which will give children the knowledge to learn future instruments with ease and enjoyment.

- Learning music through physical movement which helps to develop musical understanding. For example: high note = students stretch high, low note = students sit down.
- To express the rhythm of the music through body movements include clapping, playing instruments, and singing.
