Paul has been teaching my children for two years & we have all thoroughly enjoyed his lessons. He has built a great rapport with them - supportive & encouraging while remaining flexible in addressing their needs & preferences. His teaching materials are varied & engaging, enabling the children to practise effectively on their own. Paul adapts his pace & style to their ages, skill levels & circumstances (such as exams). We particularly appreciated that the children learned both fingerpicking & strumming from the start, allowing them to play solo & as accompaniment. The guitar has become our daughter's favourite instrument; thanks to Paul's encouragement, she now chooses her own music & spends hours playing & singing along. Our younger son started later with a different learning style, yet enjoys the lessons just as much & has been willing to play in front of others from the beginning. Organising lessons & communicating with Paul has always been straightforward. Highly recommended.

We can’t recommended Paul enough. He has been part of my daughter’s music journey for almost four years now and he supports her at every step. His communication is great and even when we might forget we have a lesson (busy schedules!) he gives us a gentle nudge to remind us. He offers flexible learning, which removes distance as a barrier but also allows you to tailor blocks of lessons to fit in with other commitments. One of the things we appreciate the most is Paul’s patience and encouragement. He explains techniques clearly and makes the lessons enjoyable for my daughter. He is also very good at finding tunes for her to learn on the guitar that she plays on her bagpipes!! Over the past three years, my daughter has improved her technique, expanded her repertoire and developed a deeper understanding of guitar.
