6 months in and loving learning with Matt. As an adult learner, Matt just goes with the flow of what I want to do and what I want to play. It's not just scales and boring pieces, I'm learning cool stuff. Thanks Matt!

Mat is just what I needed as a 'late developer' - absolute beginner at age 68 with zero knowledge of music theory or other instruments. He quickly assessed what would work for me, and has patiently tolerated the hideous noises I make, while gently developing some basic skills that after only five lessons had me twanging alongside him in a mini blues jam session. Difficult to express how really inspiring this is. Lovely bloke; excellent environment (dedicated outbuilding); gifted teacher. Highly recommend.

I have wanted to play the Acoustic Guitar for many years and so was quite nervous to introduce myself to Mat Baker not only being probably a little older than his normal students, but also having the disadvantage of not being quite so quick to pick up things that a younger person would do so more easily. I am pleased to say that after a few months of online sessions, I do actually feel that I am making progress albeit not as fast as I would like simply because of the limited time that I have to practise. Mat, however, is the ideal teacher being knowledgeable, polite and forever patient providing a wonderful friendly platform to engage and assist me in my musical vision. His teaching technique allows my independence but with his gentle influence in the correct direction! I would highly recommend him to any potential student young or old with similar goals to myself.
