Lainey has been fantastic teaching our 6 year old daughter her first lessons with the flute. Lainey has excellent communication in arranging the lessons and has been very patient. Our daughter has become very enthusiastic and has made huge progress. We are looking forward to continuing the journey.

Lainey is by far the best music teacher any one could ask for. She has been teacher my son flute and her care, attention and patients is astounding. My son is 8 years old and is fairly new to playing the flute, but she shows so much enthusiasm to build up his confidence in playing, that he is enjoying it so much more. We have done face to face and video conference lessons and Lainey has so much attention to detail, it’s great. If you are looking to play an instrument Lainey would be an excellent choice. Having played the clarinet for several years, it was with rather high expectations that I started to look for a flute teacher. I must admit that Lainey surpassed all of them. She has extensive experience in teaching flute and is an expert performer. Moreover, Lainey makes a strong emphasis on proper breathing in her lessons and helps one to become aware of their breathing patterns, thus providing an essential foundation for playing any wind instrument. She also ensures you always play organically, without tension, through special exercises. Whatever your level and musical aspirations, you will greatly benefit from her teaching. I therefore recommend her to anyone looking for a fully qualified flute teacher.

Lainey has been very patient and accommodating to the needs of my child who is very shy but loves music, in particular the flute. Although a beginner in flute, she has always looked forward to her lessons with Lainey and I can see she has progressed in just a few weeks. Lainey teaches my 8 year old son. He started as a beginner with no prior knowledge in flute. It's been only 8 weeks and I can already see him very confident with the way he handles the instrument and his tracks. Lainey guides him in every step , encourages him positively and appreciate for every single effort he attempts. Lainey has been amazing to work with for the past few months! I haven’t played consistently in maybe 7 years and she has very quickly got me back in the routine and getting rid of bad habits I’ve built up. Lainey is a wonderful teacher (and generally just a wonderful person!). I have had 4 lessons with Lainey and I am already playing short melodies with a combination of 3 notes - I have never played an instrument or read music before. Lainey's teaching style is epic, her use of visualisation has supported my understanding immensely. She has pointed me towards useful tools and resources to support my learning and to enable me to learn and develop my skillset. Lainey is kind and supportive and I look forward to my lessons and having a chinwag! I was nervous and a little embarrassed about learning an instrument from scratch as an adult but Lainey is making it such a magical experience and I couldn't be more excited to be on my musical journey with her guidance. Lainey was a great tutor for our 8 year old son who was a complete beginner with the flute. She made the lessons fun and interactive which enabled our son to be comfortable and really enjoy the lessons immediately, something which is quite rare for him!

Lainey is equal parts passionate about the flute and encouraging towards students. I really enjoy our lessons as she lets me speak my part and gives me confidence. She also is good at the psychological side of learning and making mistakes (as you have to make to learn). I can’t recommend Lainey highly enough.

I am thoroughly enjoying my lessons with Lainey. I started playing the flute again after 15 years and it’s been brilliant - that’s all down to Lainey being a great teacher. My technique has improved significantly and that has made my sound so much better (even better than it was when I first played!). I am remembering more and more each lesson, as well as learning new things about technique! Lainey is a kind, compassionate teacher who obviously loves what she does and is highly skilled at it.
