Karen is so patient and kind and I feel she is a very good and natural music teacher. I'm not the quickest learner these days (65!!!) but I'm starting from scratch and Karen has a great instinct for knowing just how much info I can absorb at a time. Ive had a handful of lessons from Karen but I have already learned a lot and my confidence is growing tremendously. Each session is very personal and we move at a good pace which works for me.i like the way I get "homework" as it gives me something to focus on practicing during the week.overall I'm very happy with my experience and I'm looking forward to continue my learning with Karen in the long run

Karen is a fantastic teacher. She is calm, personable and easy to learn from. I had lessons as a child so was very nervous about restarting as an adult, but after six lessons can feel active development. Karen has a student focused approach and will only give what she thinks I am capable of, (even if I don't believe it) and has not been wrong in her assessments to date. She pushes the right amount and consistently reassures through the process so I have left every lesson with a new skill always thinking 'Wow, I didn't know I could do that!'. At thirty-something, that is a feeling I didn't think I could have again, making it fun and impressive every lesson. Karen will also take into consideration what I want to learn and make a note to incorporate it so it ensures engagement. From my learning experience, she is a teacher who is also a musician - not a musician who is teaching, meaning she is invested in what is taught and learned, making the lessons worth every penny.
