I have been having saxophone lessons with Jody for three months now. I started as a complete beginner. Jody has been fantastic. I have had numerous music teachers in the past and Jody stands out because he really focuses on what you want to learn and is able to teach a wide range of styles and in a way that is easy to understand as a novice. He is also flexible with scheduling lessons which helps me when I’m busy. He is very patient and I always feel comfortable bringing up my goals to him because he just wants to help and build around the student’s wants. So far we have covered pop and jazz. He is very experienced with jazz especially and explains music theory in simple terms which helps me a lot! I feel I have picked up so much since starting with Jody and I would definitely recommend him to anyone interested in starting the saxophone or wanting to improve on their skills.

I have known Jody for 16 years as his judo instructor and since reaching 16 years old he has helped deliver lessons to various age groups (3-5 yrs, 5-10yrs, 10-16yrs and adults) and in the last 6 years he has delivered lessons on his own. He is patient and has a calm and supportive manner. I have followed his progress in his musical career and he is clearly gifted in his ability to read, write and compose music as well as the ability to play a number of instruments to a high standard.
