Had been wanting to learn piano for ages, Henry was offering lessons at times that were convenient for me and at a price I could afford. I was really looking forward to the free introductory lesson and Henry did not disappoint. He asked me what I was wanting to get out of the lessons and I said that I just wanted to be able to play for me, not work towards grades or anything, and he obliged. I was playing actual songs, albeit nursery rhymes, in my first lesson which gave me a real sense of achievement. Henry’s online support is also amazing, with examples of affordable pianos and good books to learn from. Henry also understands that as an adult learner, sometimes life gets in the way and if I turn up to lesson and haven’t managed to practice much that week, he is not annoyed. Henry is very supportive and encouraging during lessons and I find it very easy and enjoyable to learn under his tuition. I would highly recommend Henry as a teacher to anyone and everyone.

Henry is a fabulous teacher. We have had a great experience with our 8 year old who is learning piano for the first time. Henry sets age-appropriate tasks, provides endless encouragement, constructive and kind feedback, and allows our child enough freedom to make their own creative choices with music. This has ensured that our child’s introduction to learning an instrument has been fun and light. He has also made incredibly good progress over just 6 lessons; learning the basics of piano, rhythm, note reading, essential scales and is starting to use both hands with a few of his favourite pieces. Henry’s passion for music is evident in the way he teaches and engages with my child in lessons. He is communicative and flexible with admin, and we look forward to taking part in the learner concerts in the future, which he arranges for his students to showcase their music. I would highly recommend Henry to anyone wishing to learn or progress with an instrument.

Studying violin with Henry has been a truly meaningful experience for me. He is not only an exceptional teacher, but someone who genuinely cares about his students and their growth. His patience, encouragement, and deep understanding of music create a lesson environment where you feel supported and motivated, even when things are challenging. He has a wonderful way of helping you believe in yourself while pushing you to become better, both technically and musically. Also he helps you achieve the goals you have by preparing a proper curriculum and push you towards the goal all the while keeping your overall growth in mind.

Henry is an absolutely amazing teacher. He is incredibly patient, understanding, and genuinely supportive, especially during times when my confidence is low or I’m struggling with something new. He’s always happy to let me set the pace, and this really makes my learning feel safe, encouraging, and never overwhelming. What really sets him apart is how flexible and student focused he is. He’s more than happy to humour my ideas, and always lets me focus on specific things or pieces I want to learn. Along with that his scheduling flexibility is also a huge plus, and shows how much he cares about making the lessons work for us, his students. I’ve studied both violin and piano with Henry, and have enjoyed both immensly. On top of all that, he’s fun, polite, and always a pleasure to learn from. Lessons are something that I genuinely look forward to. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough, he’s a fantastic teacher!

My 13 year old has recently started violin lessons with Henry, and he is such a great teacher. He is really friendly, calm and encouraging. He is intuitive and adjusts the lessons to match the speed of learning, making the lessons fun and constructive, with enough of a challenge to push skills and learning. He has helped with setting up the violin and ensured there is understanding of how the instrument works. The lessons are a really nice mix of practice, skill and theory.

Henry is a fantastic teacher and I'd highly recommend him to anybody looking to learn piano! He tailors his lessons towards my needs and makes an effort to remember what I was learning on the previous lesson. Before starting piano lessons, I'd gotten a bit lost trying to teach myself, but that's all turned around since I started lessons with Henry. He gives me direction on what I need to learn and how I need to go about learning it. He explains things in a way that makes sense to me, which is something that I really appreciate! If you're looking to learn the piano or even just theory, then Henry is the man to choose!

My daughter had been practicing violin when she was young and had decided to take a break a few years ago to see if she needed some changes. When we found Henry's profile here we were impressed with his qualifications and experience. We thought that he would be a good fit for inspiring my daughter for picking up her violin again and we were right! Henry is such a great teacher as he is capable of bringing out the best of my daughter's capability. As soon as she started to practicing violin with Henry, she became more confident and comfortable with playing her violin. Recently, she has passed her first ABRSM exam with a merit and it was all because of Henry's brilliant knowledge and experience in teaching. Thank you Henry!
