About Gaynor
Gaynor is a dedicated, patient and passionate oboe/cor anglais tutor and performer with over 8 years of experience.
Trained accross Europe (Paris Conservatoire, HEMu Lausanne, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) Gaynor holds a first class Master of Performance and DipABRSM teaching, first class Bachelor of performance and musicology and a specialised cor anglais diploma from Paris.

Lessons will be interactive with an active role given to the learner. Tailored lessons to your needs to meet your goals in a fun and efficient way to reach your highest potential.
Exam preparation, audition coaching, joining an orchestra or college course or just playing for fun, Gaynor will accompany on your oboe journey.
Gaynor freelances accross Scotland notably with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ballet, London Concertante and prior to Covid with Scottish Opera. She is a former apprentice of all 4 Scottish national orchestras.
Gaynor is also a regular guest to perform with orchestras and chamber music ensembles in international festivals accross Europe performing as principal oboe or cor anglais as well as tutti oboe.
Gaynor currently teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (MT department), accross various schools in Edinburgh, Sistema Scotland and with her own private class.
Past student successes include 100% pass rate at graded exams (only merit and distinction!), joining a Bachelor of performance, joining local and youth orchestras.
All ages and levels are welcome, there are no limitations to learn music!
Please note Gaynor can provide 100% hand-made reeds
First lesson:
you will need an instrument, a reed, music (if you have previous experience of playing) and a big smile
