About Chris F.

I'm now living in the South Yorkshire area and am offering private tuition to all brass instrumentalists. I studied at the Royal College of Music in London and have had over 36 years of professional playing experience performing all over the world with artists such as Maria Schneider, Bob Mintzer, Jamiroquai, Pavarotti, Paul Weller, NDR Big Band, RIAS Big Band as well as many West End Shows. After studying at the Royal College of Music in London I spent 18 years living and working in and around London and the rest of the UK. In 1998 I moved to Germany and spent 17 years living and working as a professional Trombonist and teacher of all brass in Hamburg Germany but have now returned to Yorkshire my home county.

I can offer you a wealth of knowledge, especially in the physics of brass playing having studied extensively the techniques of Carmine Caruso and Louis Maggio. If you are experiencing Chop problems (poor range, flexibility, endurance, sound etc) please get in touch. All players welcome Jazz/Classical/Young/old/ pro/ amateurs and total beginners.

My lessons cover all styles of playing plus grade preparation. Improvisation and some theory.
I strive to make my lessons serious fun.

My teaching experience includes .........
Private teaching at the Royal College of Music Junior dept.
Peripatetic teaching for Surrey and Harringey London.
Full class instrumental teaching for Nottinghamshire.
Private teaching at Hamburg Music School Germany.
Jazz and Rock workshops in Rostock and Hamburg Germany.

I am DBS certified.
