About Emma
Emma is a passionate musician who has been teaching for over 7 years, including being a Secondary Head of Music, giving 1:1 vocal and theory tuition and running workshops within Primary Schools. She has also been performing around the country as a soloist and within choirs and bands for most of her life.
Teaching:
As a teacher, Emma likes to ensure that both teacher and student work together to reach your goal and develop the skills to become a strong musician. Lessons will be tailored to the student's goals combining vocal exercises and technique work (specifically breath control and vocal support) and learning repertoire - whatever style you enjoy! Whether you are just wanting to have fun and learn a new skill or you've been singing for years, you are very welcome! Through a fun and supportive environment, Emma can help you to progress as a singer and find/develop your voice safely and confidently as well as hone those performance skills.
Performing:
Emma trained in Classical and Opera Vocals at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she trained with teachers such as Suzanne Murphy and Lorna Anderson as well as gaining workshops from musicians such as Kiri te Kanawa, Donald Maxwell, Simon Lepper and other reputable performers within the industry. She has been a part of Welsh National Youth Opera, BBC National Chorus of Wales including performing at the Opening Night of the Proms and Mid Wales Opera as well as performing in local musical theatre and pantomime.
More recently, Emma has performed with function bands ranging from rock to pop, jazz to funk! She loves music from The Marriage of Figaro to the Foo Fighters, Les Miserables to Guns n' Roses, Adele to Harry Styles!
