About Emma
Emma is a passionate and friendly teacher, offering tuition on flute and piccolo. She loves teaching students of all ages and abilities, as she believes that music should be something that is accessible to all.
Emma's teaching is tailored to each student, working out which methods and approaches will best help her students to advance and nurture their love of playing the instrument. She does not believe in a 'one size fits all' approach and will be flexible in order to get the best results for her students. If her students do wish to pursue graded examinations, Emma has a wide knowledge both the ABRSM and Trinity examination board syllabuses from Grade 1 to Diploma.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she studied Classical Flute performance under Marie-Christine Zupancic (CBSO Section Leader Flute) and Alena Walentin (Altus Artist).
Alongside her classical playing, Emma has a wide knowledge of styles of music including Jazz, Samba, and Klezmer; all of which she incorporates into her teaching to increase the enjoyment of music for her students.
