About Emily K.
Emily is a musician and tutor based in Leeds. She has a Masters in Jazz Vocals from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has studied under the incredible Lauren Kinsella, Scott Stroman and Brigitte Beraha, known worldwide for their musicianship and talents. Performance highlights include singing at the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scotts, The Barbican, Leeds Direct Arena, and Buxton Opera House. She has also supported world-renowned artists including Cleveland Watkiss, Bill Laurence and Norma Winstone.
Emily is a very experienced teacher with 8 years of teaching experience, teaching in institutions such as The Morley Academy, The Nottingham Playhouse and The Yorkshire Music School.
Emily loves teaching and sharing her passion for music with others; she is patient and encouraging to all her students, enabling them to flourish and succeed musically. She believes learning an instrument gives a sense of achievement to the individual and can help develop self- confidence. Music enriches people’s lives and education which is crucial for exploring one’s creativity and individualism.

Teaching in Vocals
Emily teaches vocals from beginners to advanced students from young children to amateur adults. She is encouraging to all her students to perform and work on what they are interested in, whether that is their favourite pop song or an operatic Aria. Emily has a comprehensive experience in graded exams and a 100% pass rate, working with Rockschool, ABRSM and Trinity boards. She has a great knowledge of vocals and is able to communicate clearly with her students, keeping their interest at all times and tries using a range of teaching techniques, such as developing musicianship through composition, drawing, listening, clapping and dancing. She will work with her students to decide on an engaging and creative practise routine while working closely with vocal technique, performance, tone and improvisation in her lessons. She aims to bring a sense of fun into her lessons and practise, planning lessons to achieve your musical goals, whether that be an exam, performance or just for fun.
