We are so thankful to have found Emil! My son was looking for an expert jazz teacher to help him improve his jazz piano skills and work on auditions for uni. Emil is above and beyond what we were looking for! My son has learned so much from him in just a few lessons and has asked that we continue with Emil indefinitely. In addition to being a highly skilled teacher, he is also great at communicating and makes the lesson process easy. Highly recommend!

Emil is truly fantastic. Why? It’s inspiring when he plays and demonstrates what you could be doing in the future. He also took a really structured approach of setting some goals with me and then working out how to get there in a way that would suit me. But he is not fixed on how we do it. You can see him really thinking through each lesson and making sure it’s individual to me. He has so many ways (a big toolkit of tips and tricks) to get you to try something. If it’s not working one way he will think of another. It’s structured but not generic coaching, it’s tailored. And he is always super supportive of the progress you have made or if you are struggling he is still positive and works out a new ways to tackle something. I’ve got further than I thought I would faster than I thought I could!

After many years of being out of touch with music I found Emil and purchased a set of five sessions, and I’m glad I did. I found Emil to have a very positive, accessible and generous teaching style. He guided me on how to approach my return to piano, started me on piano practice and sight reading routines, and taught me posture and technique - which I had forgotten. I now feel I know what I need to do to progress and am confident I can achieve higher piano qualifications. I highly recommend Emil.
