My Teaching Approach
I create a calm, encouraging space where students feel empowered. Using a flexible, structured plan, I focus on long-term musicianship. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my guidance to suit your style, whether step-by-step or creatively explorative.
Who I Teach
• Children starting their musical journey
• Adult beginners (you’re never too old to start!)
• Teens preparing for GCSE, A-Level, or auditions
• Serious learners aiming for exams or higher study
• Professional musicians wanting to strengthen harmony, improvisation or technique
You don’t need any previous experience—just curiosity and a desire to learn.
Your first lesson is relaxed and exploratory. We’ll discuss your goals, play a little to see where you’re at, and begin shaping a plan that fits your pace and interests so you leave already learning something.
About Me
I’m a pianist, composer and educator with over 20 years of experience, teaching students from young beginners to advanced musicians. I’m passionate about helping learners grow in confidence, creativity and musical independence. My background spans jazz, classical, gospel, pop and contemporary styles, so lessons can follow the direction that inspires you most.
Alongside my private teaching, I’m a long-standing Music Leader with Tomorrow’s Warriors, running workshops, mentoring young musicians and teaching core skills in performance, improvisation and ensemble playing. I also teach composition, music production and ensemble direction, and my students have a 100% exam pass rate across ABRSM, Trinity and other boards.
