First lesson:
In your first lesson I will aim to get a good idea of where you are at with your musical development and which areas will be best to begin focussing on. I like to get to know the musical tastes of my students so we can focus on working towards the type of musician that you want to be.

Students can expect look at a range of subjects dependant on their proficiency level:
- Active listening
- Repertoire that builds to the student's aims and musical ambitions
- Working on sound
- Rhythmic exercises
- Scale exercises
- Transcription
- Harmony

The first lesson will be focussing on getting to know the instrument, putting it together and finding that first sound! From then on, an introduction into the first few notes on the instrument so you can get playing right away.

I've been learning with Andy now for about 7-8 months. The progress which I have made in such a short space of time has shocked myself and my wife!! Andrew has an ability to know exactly what you want to achieve and gets right to it. Ive been taught exactly what I wanted (Improvisation and scale knowledge) not only do I feel I am storming towards my goal Andrew has managed to teach me music reading along with introducing me to new avenues of music. I can't recommend him enough. You feel right at ease straight away and you will love his singing. Cheers for everything so far Andy. Looking forward to the future.

Andrew took me through from playing my first clarinet note to playing a wide range of music - and all of this online in a matter of months. I was impressed at how much I could achieve and so grateful to Andrew for his constant advice on playing technique, practicing ideas in-between lessons and things to buy to support my playing. Andrew brings his own experience into the lessons which I found particularly helped me as an adult learner. I can thoroughly recommend Andrew and aim to re-start in the future when I am able.
