Alexei is a great music teacher who really knows his stuff. My goal, as a guitarist and wannabe performer, was to find out if someone who didn’t think they could sing could be taught to do so. Not only have I found out that the answer to that is a resounding “Yes!”, I have learnt so much more than I expected. I’ve learnt that learning to sing is not that different from learning any other instrument. I’ve learnt that the musical knowledge I already have from playing the guitar is very helpful in learning to sing. And I’ve learnt that there’s far more to learning to sing than I thought. When I showed up for my first lesson I expected it would be all about la-la-la vocal exercises, practise scales, etc. and, while there has certainly been some of that, Alexei has shown me that there are many other elements that are important. I have learnt a lot about musicality in general and what makes a good performance. I’ve gone from being afraid to open my mouth to feeling very confident singing in front of others. My lessons feel very tailored towards my individual needs and abilities. What’s more, they are always lots of fun. If you’re looking for a teacher who will really develop you as a musician, irrespective of what instrument you are playing, look no further.

I've had several lessons with Alexei so far, and he's been an incredible bass teacher. His enthusiasm for music is contagious, and he always gets me excited to play and improve. He listens to what I have to say, answers all my questions, and even works them into the lesson, making everything feel personalized and relevant. He’s great at connecting the dots between theory and playing, helping me understand how everything fits together. On top of that, he’s friendly, chatty, and makes learning bass both fun and engaging. I always leave lessons feeling motivated and inspired. Highly recommend.

I’ve been receiving tutelage in guitar from Alexei for around six months now and can fully recommend his services to anyone interesting in developing their musical abilities. From the first lesson, it was clear that Alexei is a highly experienced tutor and knowledgeable musician, and his teaching has been indispensable in expanding my own knowledge of music and my technical skill with the instrument. Having had some prior experience before starting lessons with Alexei, I found he quickly got a sense of my level of experience and has tailored lessons to my ability, and I’ve no doubt that he would be able to do the same for any beginner or even for more advanced players. Finally, while starting with a new teacher is always an anxiety inducing experience, I’ve found that lessons have quickly become comfortable. Alexei has a very reassuring and non-judgemental approach to teaching, far more so than my first guitar teacher. Overall, I think you will struggle to find a better teacher than Alexei when it comes to learning more about music and I recommend his services to anyone interested in developing as a musician.
