The harp

The Harp

The Harp an instruments in which strings are suspended in a wooden frame. It is one of the earliest known instruments still in use today, with a history dating as far back as 3500 BC. The harp is fairly unique in the sense that while it is used in music across the world, the shape, size and design varies greatly, all depending on where in the world you are.

The harp is often associated with symphony orchestras. Although it may seem strange, the harp is actually quite similar to the piano when it comes to the basic construction of the two instruments. The strings of the piano are played by hammers, activated by hitting the keys, while the strings of the harp are played directly by your fingers.
