I had a great session with Yuriko who gave me lots of tips around what I was learning, and encouraged me to learn some pieces I was too afraid to attempt! Patient and encouraging teacher, highly recommended.

Since last year, I have been taking weekly adult beginner piano lessons with Yuriko. She is a kind and friendly teacher, who is attentive to the needs of adult hobbyists, and it has been a great pleasure working with her as I learn the rudiments of the instrument. Yuriko is flexible in her approach: with me, as a beginner, lessons begin with some scales and exercises and then focus mainly on (classical) repertoire, split between short études, selected for their technical merits, and fuller pieces. (Note that the absence of theory during the class is because I prefer to study music theory separately so that my time with Yuriko is spent entirely on the piano.) I would recommend her as a teacher to fellow beginners: especially if---as I was initially---you are apprehensive at the idea of picking up a new instrument as an adult and with a busy life or demanding job!
