About Yotham B. Y.

Hello!

I am a composer and pianist currently studying at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
I teach beginner piano, composition and music theory.

I was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel (1999); grew up in Budapest, Hungary (2006-2019); and am now studying for my Bachelors with Malcolm Singer and Nye Parry.

I’m composing as much as I can for as many people as I can. Nowadays my work mixes Jewish and Hungarian folk music with hyper-Stravinskian modernism, see CRAZE (https://youtu.be/TvZb54PbiZs) and HOMOKOZÓ (https://soundcloud.com/user-815363174/homokozo) for instance. I balance this by also writing in a more “traditional” style, much like contemporary film music. Listen to Loch Lomond (https://soundcloud.com/user-815363174/loch-lomond-orchestral) and At the Foot of the Altar (https://youtu.be/68qor8WSj4I).

I have 17 years of classical training and have an ABRSM grade 8 in music theory.

My teaching will involve getting the student to grips with the utmost fundamentals of music, building up step by step whilst encouraging the growth of their musicality and creativity.

It would be an honour and a privilege to coach young musical passions.
