About Vaiva

I have a strong passion for teaching and enjoy working with talented students of all ages and abilities. I am an accomplished music instructor with over ten years of experience teaching violin, piano, and general music theory.
In my lessons, we typically work on at least one new piece while maintaining and refining a selection of repertoire. I also incorporate special projects such as improvisation, composition, music theory, and ensemble work. Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs; for example, we may focus intensively on a specific aspect of a piece, such as phrasing, for an entire session. A significant part of my teaching is dedicated to helping students develop effective practice techniques, which I consider one of the most important elements of musical progress.
I began developing my professional career in music at an early age, studying at the Gymnasium of Music in Kaunas, Lithuania, before advancing to specialise at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius. During my Bachelor’s degree, I participated in masterclasses in solo and chamber music with distinguished professors, including Johannes Meissl (Vienna), Piotr Tarcholik (Kraków), Augustinas Vasiliauskas, and Petras Kunca.
Following my graduation, I performed as a violinist with the Musical Theatre Orchestra in Kaunas. Since moving to London over ten years ago, I have performed with several orchestras, including the London City Philharmonic, Mozart Symphony Orchestra, and London Film Music Orchestra, further developing my career as an orchestral musician.
Alongside my performance career, I have continued to build extensive teaching experience through work at the London School of Arts, private tuition, workshops, and online lessons via Skype. I am deeply committed to helping students develop their musical abilities and nurture a lasting passion for music, and I would bring both experience and enthusiasm to this role.
