About Tom

Hi, I’m Tom! I'm a qualified music teacher and musician specializing in guitar, with experience teaching KS3 to KS5 in a secondary school setting. I graduated from the University of Westminster in 2019 with a degree in Music and have performed extensively across London as part of various bands, both playing my own music and supporting other artists.

I have years of experience teaching music in 1:1 lessons, small groups, and band setups, as well as a strong background in the technical side of music, including amps, pedals, and equipment. I’m passionate about helping students engage deeply with music and believe that consistent practice is essential for real progress. Without it, results will naturally take much longer.

In lessons, I focus on:

Technique: Finger exercises and warm-ups to build solid foundations.
Practical Skills: Learning pieces students enjoy, whether for graded exams or personal goals.
Creativity: Improvisation, composition, and developing listening skills.
Music Theory: Reinforcing understanding tied to what’s been learned.

I also provide tailored materials like scales, chord sheets, and backing tracks to support independent practice. Whether you’re learning for fun or aiming to achieve specific goals, I’ll adapt lessons to suit your needs.

If this sounds like what you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch—I’d love to help you on your musical journey!
