About Tilly Langford
Tilly is a violinist, violin and secondary school music teacher based in Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire.
Tilly graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music (2019) and a Masters degree in Music Education from the University of York, specialising in private instrumental teaching (2020). She has also completed her PGCE training specialising in Music from the University of Cambridge (2023).
Tilly is enthusiastic about tailoring her teaching to her pupils' individual needs, understanding that everyone has different learning styles. She also ensures that her lessons revolve around her pupils' musical interests, to ensure that they are thoroughly enjoying the process of learning to play the violin. Furthermore, she encourages pupils to make mistakes in their playing, and understand that mistakes need to be made, in order to improve.
Tilly believes that everyone learns at different paces, and it is in her best interest to make sure that her pupils don't feel rushed but instead satisfied with their musical progress.
Tilly has experience performing in a variety of ensembles from symphony and chamber orchestras to smaller early music, folk and contemporary music ensembles. She also enjoys singing soprano and alto in choirs, both in and outside of work.
