About Tia
Hi, I’m Tia, and I teach upper brass instruments, including cornet, trumpet, flugelhorn, and tenor horn.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Music (BMUS) from Bangor University, and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where I am deepening my understanding of music theory and performance.
I am a passionate brass band player, having participated in many local South Wales bands, and I’m currently playing Solo Cornet with the City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) M1 band, where I enjoy collaborating with talented musicians.
I am happy to teach beginners of any age, either at home or via Zoom, providing flexible options to suit different learning styles. My aim is to create a safe and exciting environment where students feel encouraged to explore their musical abilities and get the best out of themselves.
Each lesson includes warm-ups, technique exercises, repertoire practice, feedback, and a fun closing activity.
I teach in 30-minute slots, as, from my experience, this is the right amount of time for a beginner to absorb new concepts without feeling overwhelmed.
If you have any inquiries or would like to discuss lessons further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me!
