I started playing double bass at school over 25 years ago, and went on to study orchestral double bass at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Mary Condliffe and Dominic Seldis. After college I played professionally with the Tenerife Symphony and Opera orchestras, before deciding to pursue a career outside music.

At RWCMD I taught in the junior department, and today I teach a small number of adults and young people, as well as coaching the double bass section of the Thames Vale Youth Orchestra.

Whether you're a complete beginner, or are picking up the bass again after a while away from it, we'll work together to understand what you want out of your lessons, and go from there.

My teaching is focused on building a foundation of good technique, while making sure we enjoy the playing.
