About Stephen Wood
I have worked for over 30 years as an instrumental teacher (piano & brass) with the Wakefield Music Service. Throughout this time I have taught a large number of pupils ranging from Junior School pupils to Adult learners. I have experience of working with both indivdiual pupils and groups and have prepared students for GCSE and A level examinations as well as entering students for ABRSM and Trinity Examinations (both on line and in person).
I believe it is important to work with pupils to enable them to achieve their desired goals, by setting a clear plan and helping them to improve with tailored lessons, good supporting materials (I have a large collection of original resources that are available free to all my pupils) and clear instruction.
I originally studied at the Leeds College of Music followed by Postgraduate study at the Royal Northern College of Music. I hold the BBCM Diploma and have a PGCE Certificate.
I currently work as a freelance Arranger, Composer and Conductor with works published by the Salvation Army, Music for Brass & Obrasso Verlag.
