About Sophie

Sophie offers a fun, informal and student-led approach to music tuition, encouraging people of all ages to reach the best of their musical potential.

Having taught for more than ten years both privately and in schools, and as an ABRSM Music Examiner, she has honed her teaching skills to be intuitive to the student, realising the importance in adaptability around music education. She is now reading towards a Masters in Music Therapy, which is quickly adding to her toolkit as a music specialist.

She trained at the University of Bristol primarily, but has always considered her own ongoing musical education of great importance, having picked up several instruments through her adult life (her current project is the Alto Saxophone). She prides herself on enhancing her teaching techniques from the varying viewpoints of her music colleagues.

She's performed both as a soloist and as a session musician around the world, most recently with the Bristol Symphony Orchestra and for various popular music artists across the UK.

Sophie teaches piano, cello, guitar, ukulele, singing and music theory.
