About Sissi

【Guzheng Group Classes – London】
In the heart of London, just steps away from Chinatown, a quiet corner of Chinese musical tradition has been thriving for nearly three years. We are a passionate Guzheng teaching team, offering in‑person small group classes for adults who wish to explore one of China’s most treasured instruments — the Guzheng.
1. Lead Teacher
- Grade 10 Guzheng player (the highest level in Chinese instrumental grading).
- MA in Music Education, University of Liverpool.
- Over 8 years of experience teaching Guzheng to adults and young learners.
- Specialises in bridging traditional techniques with modern pedagogical methods.
2. Teaching Assistant (myself)
- Grade 4 Guzheng player.
- MA in Education, University of Manchester.
- Responsible for in‑class support, individual feedback, and helping each student progress at their own pace.
Together, we offer a balanced learning environment: professional guidance at the front, and personalised attention throughout the class.

【For Beginner to Intermediate Learners】
Our small group classes are specifically designed for adult learners at beginner and intermediate levels. Whether you have never touched a Guzheng before or you already know a few pieces and want to refine your technique and musicality, you will find a place here.

【Everything Is Provided — Just Bring Yourself】
One of the biggest barriers to learning a new instrument is equipment. Guzhengs are large, expensive, and not easy to carry around London. That is why we have removed that obstacle entirely. We provide:
- Guzheng instruments (tuned and maintained)
- Portable leg rests
- Adjustable music stands
- Sheet music and learning materials
- Fingerpicks (you are welcome to bring your own, but we have spares)

【Why Small Group Classes Work】
We have chosen small group teaching for a reason. A class of 7 adults creates the perfect balance:
1. Peer learning – Watching fellow students tackle the same piece is encouraging and insightful. Mistakes become shared learning moments, not embarrassments.
2. Motivation – A regular class time and group accountability keep you practising. When you see others improve, you naturally raise your own standard.
3. Cost‑effectiveness – Small group classes are significantly more affordable than one‑to‑one lessons, without sacrificing quality....
