Meet Simon your new Drum Teacher !
I am a passionate music maker and teacher, who loves to share his expertise with all levels and ages of students.
I started my musical journey by playing drums in band courses around London from age 10 and then through my teenage years.
I have a degree in jazz performance from Trinity Laban conservatoire in Greenwich and graduated from the BRIT School for music. I perform jazz and pop music as well as original music regularly around London in venues such as Ronnie Scott's, Toulouse Lautrec, and the Vortex and festivals such as Cross the Tracks and Love Supreme.
My teaching style is informal and student centred, making sure my lessons focus on achieving student's musical ambitions, whilst making the learning experience enjoyable and creative. Lesson plans range depending on the level of student skill- I specialise in drum technique, repertoire, ear training, theory, improvisation and band skills. These skills can be applied and transferred to different ability levels and styles of music so each student can find what's useful to them. I can also tutor students for performance and theory examinations.
