About Shona

Shona loves teaching and offers fun and engaging lesson to all ages and abilities. Shona has graduated from the Royal College of Music having began her studies 2 years early. She began learning the violin at age 7. She has 4 years of private teaching experience, with all ages. She has also previously worked in a primary school. Some notable venues she has performed at in the UK include BBC Proms, Kensington and Eltham Palace, Hatfield House, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall, and The Palladium. Her international activities have seen her perform in venues such as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in the USA, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

She has also won first prize in several competitions and festivals in the UK and abroad. She regularly performs at various fundraising events in the UK including fundraising for the National Autistic Society. Recently she also led the Chineke! Junior Orchestra in their audition on national TV in Britain’s Got Talent.

Over her years of learning Shona attended several masterclasses with professors including Professor Zakhar Bron, Professor Ana Chumachenco, Pierre Amoyal, Michael Kugel, Mark Messenger, Chloe Hanslip and Tasmin Little. She also previously studied at the Royal College of Music Junior Department.
