About Sean
I am a professional jazz trumpet player based in Crouch End with 10 years of performing and teaching experience. I work with a wide range of ages and ability levels, from teaching students their very first notes to preparing them for conservatoire auditions and beyond.
I tailor my lessons to the individual needs of each pupil. Whilst jazz is my specialism, I have also performed in classical and pop settings, and want to help students work towards their personal musical goals. For those wishing to sit exams, I have lots of experience working with both the ABRSM jazz and classical syllabuses.
Location
I can teach at my home or at pupils' homes if they are reasonably local (within a 20 minute drive). I charge a small extra fee for travelling, depending on distance.

Birmingham Conservatoire: BMus (hons) Jazz - First class
Performing Credits
I have released two albums with Ubuntu Music, receiving a five star review in BBC Music Magazine and extensive airplay on Jazz FM. My big band album Confluence was nominated for Best Album at the 2023 Scottish Jazz Awards and has exceeded 1.8 million streams on Amazon Music. I have performed at prestigious venues worldwide, including New York's Lincoln Center, Tokyo's Bunka Kaikan and London's Ronnie Scott's.
As a member of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, I have performed with guest soloists such as Kurt Elling, Jazzmeia Horn and Kenny Washington. Other artists I've played with include Georgia Cécile, Daniel Casimir, Eliza Carthy and Chris Dean's Syd Lawrence Orchestra.
