About Scarlett
Scarlett is an exciting flute and piccolo player based in Norfolk; performing solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire. She is also an experienced instrumental teacher with a passion for music education.
In July 2020, Scarlett was awarded a MMus degree in Flute Performance with Distinction from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She studied flute with Margaret Campbell and piccolo with Chris Green. Scarlett also took part in various ensembles at Trinity including the Symphonic Winds and the Side-by-Side scheme with players from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO). In April 2019, Scarlett reached the finals of both the Flute Prize and the Harold Clarke Woodwind competitions.
While at college, Scarlett earned a place on the prestigious BSO Orchestral Post-Graduate Training Programme. Throughout the rest of her studies in 2020, she will be playing with the orchestra and supporting them in various outreach activities.
Scarlett has played with several orchestras around London including the Blackheath Halls Orchestra, Docklands Sinfonia and the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoys playing for musical theatre productions.
Prior to studying at Trinity Laban, Scarlett gained a 1st Class degree in Music from the University of Nottingham, during which she studied flute with Dana Morgan. She was the principal flute of the University of Nottingham Philharmonia Orchestra and the university's Wind Orchestra, with whom she also performed Mike Mower's Flute Concerto in March 2018.
