About Sam
🎸 ABOUT SAMUEL THOMPSON
Sam is a fully qualified music teacher with a genuine passion for helping students achieve their goals. Beginners are always welcome, and lessons are adapted to suit individual needs and aspirations. Whether students are looking to learn to play purely for pleasure or work towards taking graded examinations, Sam offers personal tuition on electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and quintessential bass guitar skills. He also offers music production and technology lessons exclusively within Logic Pro X.
All tuition is open to complete beginners and hobbyists, as well as more advanced students looking to refine their guitar and musicianship skills or to create professional recordings and productions. His lessons are relaxed, providing an environment where students can build a solid foundation and grow as independent musicians to find their own style.
From teaching KS4 music in secondary schools, Samuel has working knowledge and experience with exam boards such as AQA and Eduqas, supporting students to excel in their GCSE Music exams.
He holds a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education) ✅and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)✅ in Teaching (2025), and a BA (Hons) in Creative Music Technology from Salford University (2020).
🎓 TEACHING KS3 – KS5 MUSIC
With experience teaching Key Stages 3 to 5 in school settings, Sam offers additional support for GCSE Music students. Areas of focus include:

Whether a student is struggling with set works, building a portfolio, or aiming to improve their grades, lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and learning styles.
🎸 GUITAR & BASS LESSONS
As a guitarist, Sam has RSL Grade 8 in Electric Guitar and can also play bass. His lessons incorporate music theory in a practical, easy-to-understand way — with no dry lectures, just clear, useful tools to help students grow musically.
