Sam is a professional saxophonist based in Cardiff. He is available for online and in person lessons. Sam has a BA in Music (classical and composition) and a Masters in Jazz from the RWCMD. Sam plays in funk, hip-hop and afrobeat bands as well as a session musician in pop and rock bands. He also composes and arranges.

Sam believes that practice should be enjoyed, like a nice meal or a run. Through finding routines that work for them students will make consistent and noticeable progress, as well as enjoying their time with the instrument. Sam is an enthusiastic teacher, and learner, and is comfortable taking students through grades and exams as well as progressing in a more casual setting. In all of these pathways lessons will split time to focus on fundamentals, exploration and development. Students will be encouraged to train their ear and sense of time as well as technique on the saxophone.
