About Sabrina Ko
I am a highly qualified music educator offering violin, piano, music theory, GCSE Music and A Level Music lessons at my home in Shirley, Solihull. Whether you are working towards ABRSM/Trinity exams, getting ready for upcoming performances, or would like to learn for a bit of fun, I will tailor my lessons to your needs!
Qualifications and experience:
I qualified as a secondary school music teacher in 2022. I have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and am fully DBS checked. I have taught KS3, GCSE and A Level music at King Edward's VI Handsworth Grammar School, Bishop Vesey's Grammar School and Kings Norton Boy’s School.
For several years, I worked as a peripatetic violin teacher for Services For Education, Birmingham's music service. I taught violin lessons in a variety of 1 to 1, small group settings and as part of their Whole Class Instrumental Teaching initiative.
I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2019 with a Bachelor's in Music (2:1) and from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2020 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Orchestral Conducting (Distinction). I obtained my QTS status and Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the King Edward's Consortium, accredited by the University of Birmingham.
