Teaching Piano
Lessons take place at the teacher's place with a real piano. You will need a piano or digital piano at your home for practice. A keyboard might be adaptable for young beginners. Ruby will discuss her teaching approach, repertoire, and expectations with students and parents. She has experience teaching students aged from 3 to 50 years, from beginners to ABRSM Grade 8 level. She creates musical games for children to engage in, and she helps adults to fulfill their musical dreams.

Lessons can include:
- Posture, sitting on the piano stool and putting your fingers on the piano
- Reading musical notation
- Listening to and feeling what the music brings to us
- Practicing music from a range of genres
- Music theory
- Stories in the music

Ruby will integrate the approach of ‘’playing by ear’’ as well as reading notation. If they wish, students will learn how to improvise and compose their own musical masterpieces. Ruby can help students through their formal Grade Exams, for instance, ABRSM.

Ruby teaches from her office in Cambridge and will consider traveling to a student's home within a short distance of CB1 and a small additional travel fee may be required for lessons at the student's location.
