About Ruben
Ruben plays and teaches both the bass guitar and double bass from beginner to advanced levels. With over 15 years of experience, Ruben teaches both privately as well as at an established music academy and is passionate about his work.
Lessons are designed and adapted to the interests and goals of each student. Whether it is learning your favourite songs or bass lines, preparing for graded exams/auditions, or exploring creativity, Ruben is happy to help. Ruben adopts a holistic approach to teaching whereby theory and technique are integrated in the context of music making, ensuring a deep understanding of the subject matter. Lessons are kept fun and engaging with students leaving feeling encouraged and inspired.
An active bassist on the London scene for many years, playing in various jazz/function/originals bands, Ruben has a grade 8 in electric bass (Rock School) as well as a Masters in Jazz (Bass) from Guildhall School and Music and Drama.
