I teach organ, piano, guitar and singing from my home in Central Cambridge to around 55 students of all ages and abilities across classical, pop, and jazz styles. I also give lessons in music technology e.g. Sibelius, and Logic Pro, and prepare students for theory exams.

My background:
I first got the bug for music while singing as a treble in the local church choir. I was fascinated by the sound palette and sheer power available on the organ and was keen to play. We had a piano at home and I would devour the local library's supply of sheet music - playing anything from Bach to Billy Joel.
I went on to study Electronics with Music Technology at York, which led to working as a software engineer in the music & broadcast industry, and my musical thirst was quenched by playing organist and choirmaster at evening and weekends. However, in 2015 I decided to pursue my love of music full time, teaching and performing as a church musician.

My teaching style:
I have a great passion for music education and my lessons are carefully tailored to the individual needs of each student.
My broad range of experience means I can offer a well-rounded music lesson incorporating practice, theory, ear skills, and even some singing to bring out the musicians in my students not just playing scales and pieces to pass exams, although exams can play an important role in helping set goals and providing motivation

I have over 20 years of experience playing organ, piano and guitar for churches, in worship bands, accompanying instrumentalists and singers, and directing small and large choirs in many churches around the UK.

My teachers included Kevin Bowyer (Manchester) and Gerard Brooks (London) with St. Giles International Organ School.
