Richard has been playing the guitar for over 20 years, and teaching for over 15 years. He studied music at ICMP in London, and has experience gigging and touring in various rock/punk/alt bands, as well as covers/function bands, as well as recording and session work.
Currently, Richard teaches numerous guitar, bass, and ukulele students, in various schools and online, and has taught literally thousands of students, with many going onto session and live work, studying Music at college and University, and playing in bands.
Richard is a bit of a guitar fanatic, with an ever-growing collection of instruments, and an almost encyclopedic knowledge of electric guitars (the same also applies to Star Wars and cats). He specialises in contemporary electric styles, however is also an experienced bassist and acoustic player, as well as a ukulele player.
Richard has helped hundreds of students through their grade exams, GCSEs, A Levels, and University and college auditions, however if you'd like to just play casually and for fun, that won't be a problem at all! Richard has transcribed hundreds of pieces for students over the years, and can help you nail that ACDC solo, or improve your Hetfield picking techniques, or learn that Thundercat bassline, or help you get comfortable with that Coldplay strumming pattern, and/or whatever you may want to cover.
