About Richard
Richard has over 10 years experience as a Professional Session Drummer, Teacher & Percussionist. He has travelled the globe and played alongside worldwide artists such as Tom Jones and Alfie Boe.
With an extensive career in the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, Richard has performed several times at the Royal Albert Hall and performed overseas in New Zealand, Belgium, Romania, Abu Dhabi, Sweden and the rest of Europe. He is a well equipped musician with an abundance of experience and teaching ability. Richard is passionate about music and thrives off sharing his knowledge, and watching students grow.
Teaching:
Richard has a teaching facility which is tailored to provide one to one remote lessons. Lessons are relaxed and tailored for the needs of each student. Lessons are adaptable but well thought out to ensure students meet their goals. There will be opportunities to share music, record parts of the lesson - and to work towards graded exams if requested. Richard prides himself on providing full teacher support.

Richard has performed in many genres and has the capacity to teach in many styles including Rock, Jazz, Funk, Metal, Country and Pop.
Beginners:
Lessons for beginners will start from the very basic fundamentals of good drumming, including solid time-keeping, introduction to technique and basic reading. This is to ensure that students build a solid foundation to become the next drumming star!
Intermediate:
Intermediate lesson will focus on analysis of playing and refining areas that need work. Lessons will involve exploring new concepts, challenging the student with more dynamic and intricate drumming whilst shaping them to become more refined as a musician. Intermediate players need to be pointed in the right direction to take their drumming to the next level.
Advanced:
Advanced drum lesson will involve detailed work on technique to make sure everything is done with absolute precision and efficiency. Students will be exploring advanced techniques and concepts that will enable them to always play with complete reliability. Lessons will be aimed to sculpt the students to become as versatile as possible with a very sound understanding of musicianship and theory.
