About Rebecca M.
Bex graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a BA in Music Technology and Popular Music and is currently studying for her Masters in Music Production at Leeds Beckett University. She also has lots of experience in the industry, she's had her track played on Radio 1 and she has worked with Bruno Mars’ saxophonist. She is also an experienced tutor and wants to help you take your next step in your musical journey!
Bex will teach fundamentals such as good posture, technique, tone production and tuning, connecting these to expressive and creative building blocks such as musical understanding, ear training, scales/modes/finger patterns, improvisation and composition if the student finds these interesting.
Teaching in Music Production
Bex's lessons include:
- Software / DAW overviews(Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Reaper)
- Mixing, Production/Composition techniques, theory etc.
Teaching in Piano/Keyboard
Bex’s Keyboard/Piano lessons will cover:
- Basic ear training,
- Scales and chords,
- Music Theory,
- Up to Grade 5.
Teaching in Guitar & Bass
Bex’s lessons in guitar cover:
- Hand positioning,
- Finger picking,
- Strumming patterns,
- Scales and chords,
- Left and right hand technique,
- Songs of the students choosing, as well as useful simple songs,
- Up to Grade 8.
First Lesson with Bex
Firstly, there are no set rules on how your lessons can go and you can decide what route you want to go down. The first introduction will mainly to talk about aims, aspirations and what you would like to get out of the lessons.
