Teaching Philosophy
Alongside my work as a pianist, I take real pride in my profession as a piano teacher. Having begun my career in my young age, I am an experienced, passionate and energetic piano teacher, relishing any opportunity to think outside the box. I love working with students of all ages and abilities and enjoy immense satisfaction from experiencing the growth and development of their skills, performance, and general musicianship. With a wealth of knowledge and experience of traditional teaching methods and core repertoire, I also take time to stay current and to research modern teaching approaches. I embrace alternative methods and music styles, bringing fresh ideas to lessons and tailoring my methods to fit students’ musical backgrounds, needs, and goals. I am proactive in creating performance opportunities for my students, organising concerts, and preparing entrants for competitions, and have had many of my students receive prizes and awards. As a community-spirited musician, I have been asked to adjudicate for piano competitions.

I started learning piano at the age of five, and achieved ATCL and LTCL piano diplomas before I entered university. I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where I gained a Postgraduate Professional Diploma in piano accompaniment. I also have two Master's degrees: in Piano Performance from the University of Surrey, and in Music Performance Education with Distinction. Additionally, I have also won several prestigious piano competitions, including the Quattro Mani Piano Duet Competition, Musical Fireworks Baden- Wuerttemberg International Competition in Germany, the John Ireland Competition and the University of Surrey Chamber Music Competition. Besides piano, I also like to compose, sing and collaborate with musicians. Recent works include co-compose projects for a TV travel program and sing demo for friends' works.
