Rachel has over 18 years experience teaching all ages and abilities. She prides herself on the rapport she builds with her students, and the journey they go on together to help find and develop the students' natural singing voice. She teaches beginners to young professionals, and has solid experience in preparing students for exams, auditions and public concerts in both classical and musical theatre repertoire.

A typical lesson with Rachel would include:
- Vocal warm-ups
- Teaching of technique and help with any vocal difficulties
- Developing the students confidence and ability
- Discussion of what the student likes to sing or would like to explore
- Learning and working on repertoire together

A beginner's lesson would focus on:
- Learning how to breathe correctly
- Finding their comfortable vocal range
- Developing their intonation and rhythmic skills
- Introducing aspects of vocal technique according to what the student presents with
- Above all, helping them to find enjoyment and satisfaction in their singing

A more advanced students lesson would focus on:
- Developing their technique and particularly helping to address and overcome any vocal difficulties
- Working on repertoire, including language pronunciation
- Progressing the students vocal stamina, technical ability, self-expression and performance skills

Rachel always follows what the student presents with and is led by their level of study, whether it’s for fun and to increase self-confidence or to prepare for certain vocal goals.

She is a proficient pianist, and teaches classical and music theatre vocal repertoire and music theory to grade 5.

When Rachel is not teaching she enjoys a flourishing freelance performing career in opera and choral settings.
