About Rachel
Rachel has 10 years of teaching experience, guiding students of all ages towards achieving their goals, whether that be working towards exams or learning their favourite tunes.
Since COVID-19 she adapted her 1-1 piano and music theory teaching to online delivery and is now looking to take on more online students.
Rachel's teaching style is relaxed and friendly. She is experienced in taking students through exams on the ABRSM syllabus, but can also incorporate elements of other genres, as well as introducing improvisation and composition if the student expresses an interest. Rachel is happy to take on students of any age but her specialism is absolute beginners and younger children..
Rachel is also a qualified music therapist, working with children with autism and social and emotional mental health difficulties. She enjoys using her creativity to tailor sessions to individuals in a way that they will get the most out of it for their development. Ingrained in the approach is the notion that music should and can be accessible to everyone, and this is something she takes through to her teaching.
