About Quinton Lucion
Quinton is a musician with over 25 years worth of experience with a passion in guitar. With nearly 5 years of teaching experience, Quinton finds it really rewarding seeing students improve and appreciates the chance to pass on and share his love of playing the guitar. His time in bands has seen him tour the UK and Europe on multiple occasions and play some of the biggest rock and metal festivals in the UK and Europe, including Download Festival and Bloodstock Festival.
As a teacher, Quinton structures lessons around his students. Focusing on what they want to play, with structured practise routines, enables students to improve and importantly, enjoy playing guitar along the way. Alongside this, he incorporates coaching to help build self-confidence.
Quinton specialises in rock, metal and pop and is experienced in both rhythm and lead guitar. He focuses on developing strong technique in areas like positive string connection, legato / alternate picking techniques, finger tapping, sweep / economy picking and scales.
In the first lesson, Quinton likes to start with an open conversation about the student’s interests, and what they’d like to get out of their lessons. He’ll run through a guitar health check, and set the scene with seated positioning, hand positioning and relaxation. Quinton will also discuss the structure of lessons in line with the student’s need - from picking up the guitar, warming up, metronome practice, chords and the songs they want to learn. All lessons are fully online, all students need is a guitar and an amplifier or interface.
