About Pippa Griffin

Pippa is a Violinist and Violist from London and studied BMus Music Performance at the London College of Music, where she also achieved a diploma in conducting. She regularly takes part in recording sessions and performs with orchestras, quartets and in bands for Musical Theatre shows in venues across the country and abroad. She also enjoys teaching herself other instruments in her spare time.

Having experience in teaching all the way up to grade 8, as well as leading a range of musical ensembles of different sizes, Pippa recognises that everyone learns differently and can adapt her teaching style towards each student, whether that be through different approaches or other repertoire.

Violin and Viola Teaching:
-instrumental technique
-scales
-sight reading
-work towards grade exams
-expand repertoire list
-prepare for live performances
-help with music theory
-practice other music (eg orchestra parts)
-play lots of genres

Beginners:
Going at a pace suitable for each individual student is really important - practicing instrumental technique using different exercises and focusing on learning and understanding sheet music notation which is crucial in progressing with the violin/viola in the long run.
